Akasa Air, India’s rapidly expanding airline, has broadened its global presence by adding Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, as its fourth international destination.

Starting July 11, 2024, Akasa Air will commence daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai, aiming to meet the increasing travel demand between India and the UAE while enhancing air connectivity throughout the Middle East.

Flight reservations are currently available on Akasa Air’s website, Android and iOS apps, and several prominent online travel platforms (OTAs).

The airline entered the international market with the inauguration of flights to Doha, Qatar's capital, on March 28, 2024. In May 2024, it announced services from Jeddah, followed by operations from Riyadh in June 2024.

The addition of Abu Dhabi to its network expands Akasa Air’s influence in the Gulf region and aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, aimed at attracting 39.3 million visitors by 2030. Akasa Air has also secured traffic rights for two more international destinations: Kuwait and Medina.

The airline plans to continue its rapid global expansion in the coming months.

Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of International Operations at Akasa Air, commented on the development, stating, “We are delighted to introduce Abu Dhabi as our fourth international destination. With its unique attractions and robust business opportunities, Abu Dhabi has become a preferred choice for Indian travelers, both for leisure and business purposes. The demand for air travel between India and the UAE remains strong, and we look forward to contributing to the growth of tourism between these two nations under Abu Dhabi’s visionary Tourism Strategy 2030.”
